Regenerating the Town Centre
NewRiver REIT was granted planning permission in 2021 for a mix of new and refurbished retail spaces, leisure uses, hotel, over 170 additional car parking spaces, improved public realm and new homes. The scheme will not only create new job opportunities for the local community, but will also act as a catalyst for further growth for the whole town.
In order to deliver the regeneration some works have already been delivered including the relocation of the Lidl to the former gas holder site on Leylands Road and the new, award-winning library in the town centre.
The exciting regeneration plans for the town centre will be of enormous benefit to Burgess Hill, creating a thriving and vibrant hub for people who live, work and visit the town.
The scheme is being brought forward by NewRiver REIT who are one of the UK’s largest owners of convenience-led community assets.
